***Best Cheap Car Speakers With Good Bass***
These speakers are very affordable, yet they come with a number of impressive features. The speaker is made of a 6.5 inch CD P.P. cone, which comes in bold yellow. You may or may not like the color, but for those who enjoy customizing their vehicles, it’s nice to have something that looks a little different from the stock speakers.
A 4ohm component audio speaker compensates for the undersized wire found in many modern cars. This helps to ensure that you get the most out of the 300 watts peak power that a car stereo can deliver – transforming the sound into something really impressive.
Of course we’re looking at car speakers with the best audio, and so we’re interested in the Mid Bass Woofer. This gives your music a powerful kick and offers a 60Hz-20KHz frequency response.
The high temperature voice coil offers very rich sounds without warping or becoming damaged in hot weather.
In short, this is a fantastic sounding speaker system for a very low price. Sure, it’s not quite as impressive as some of the others below – but considering the price, it’s a great budget option.
They average 4 stars out of 5 from 600 reviews, and are JUST $10.37 with FREE SHIPPING. If you’re looking for a set of cheap car speakers with good bass what’s not to like?
***Best Door Speakers For Bass***
Although these speakers are priced so low they’ll still significantly improve your sound quality.
The musical power comes from silver alpha-cellulose cones, which have been built with longevity in mind and feature extra protection from the elements. These speakers are moisture resistant, they are UV coated, and should last a long time.
Perhaps one of the best features here is the anti-resonant stamped steel. This prevents them from rattling and shaking around as they produce the sound, which in turn means you won’t hear the muffling that comes from speakers when turned up to the max.
What’s also great about these three way speakers is just how easy they are to install. They have spade terminals which means you can simply pop them into place and start enjoying a better quality of sound right away.
Oh, and we like the box! Obviously, this isn’t going to be a major selling point, and admittedly they aren’t the very best bass car speakers in this review, but the little bit of art and design work that has gone into the packaging really makes you feel as though you are getting a premium product at a very low price.
They average 4.3 stars out of 5 from 59 reviews, and at $17.99 with FREE SHIPPING, they’re a real bargain.
***Best 6.5 Speakers For Bass***
This speaker system has a 60Hz-20KHz frequency response, 92dB sensitivity, and 4Ohms impedence. It uses a rubber basket surround to keep in place, and it uses a poly injection voice coil. That polymer provides a fantastic resilience, while also being able to vibrate and transfer sound with an excellent crisp quality.
The result? Fantastic, crisp, and bassy sound. Put this into your car’s audio system and you can expect a significant upgrade if you’re coming from the manufacturer’s speakers.
What’s more, is that this package is a class act in a whole host of other ways.
For instance, the speakers look fantastic. They have a great color scheme that uses gradients and grills to look really mean. On top of that, they feel very nicely made and come with an impressive 3 year warranty.
The amount you get in this package is right up there with the very best offers that we’ve seen. Yes, this is more than the previous few speaker systems, but it comes with two speakers, two tweeters, two crossovers, and two grills. This is a really complete system for the price.
It averages 4 stars out of 5 from over 2,400 reviews and is currently ON OFFER at $34.99 with FREE SHIPPING.
***4 Inch Car Speakers With Good Bass***
This speaker system has an aspirational sounding name, but is it really a pioneer in the car speaker space?
In many ways, this is a next generation offering. It has a rigid multi-layer mica matrix cone structure, which provides a wide dispersion of sound and very deep, pulse-pounding bass. A new tweeter helps to provide the best range of frequencies, and has been built with optimization for louder volumes in mind.
These speakers will easily stand the test of time. They are heat resistance, and able to withstand high input power for long periods. A cooling basket with air vent helps to aid the cooling process.
They’re a cut above some of the more budget options at the start of this list. And, although anything we’ve looked at so far will do an excellent job of providing you with deep, impressive bass, and a generally dynamic and clear soundscape, for car speakers with the best bass, you really need look no further than these!
At JUST $40.40 with FREE SHIPPING they provide great value for money, and with an average of 4.4 stars out of 5 from over 650 reviews they come with added peace of mind. The 4 inch option is a market leader.
***One To Watch!***
Kenwood’s 3-Way Coaxial speakers offer fantastic sound improvement at a very affordable price. They have a wider 70Hz to 20kHz frequency than many of the speakers we have looked at so far, but otherwise have many of the same features including water resistance to help increase lifespan.
These speakers are among the clearest sounding we’ve come across, and of course have great bass. In fact, they’re so good that if you aren’t happy with the sound quality, it’s likely that the ‘bottle neck’ in your system lies elsewhere. A better radio for instance might help you take advantage of the louder speakers.
At $46.89 with FREE SHIPPING they won’t break the bank and you’ll be getting a top notch car bass system that’s easy to install from a leading brand.
They average a whopping 4.5 stars out of 5 from 45 reviews so far too!
***6.5 Speakers With Good Bass***
These speakers provide a 61/2” woofer and ½” tweeter. They are made with a heavy duty structure to ensure the best performance and certainly look the part with subtle-yet-attractive yellow highlights.
Looking at car speakers in terms of specs alone tells us little though. What’s really important is to get them in the car and try listening to see how they really perform. And the good news here is that these speakers sound absolutely fantastic – particularly in the bass department.
That’s thanks to an extended voice coil woofer, which has been designed to create a cleaner sounding bass. On top of that, the surround is used to help create precise linear excursion.
These design features help to ensure that the product outperforms expectations considering its price bracket. They manage to keep the price low as they don’t use any additional parts, but the design features ensure that they’re almost guaranteed to sound better and clearer than the manufacturer’s speakers.
For a low cost then, they’re a significant upgrade to your car’s soundscape.
They average an impressive 4.4 stars out of 5 from 349 reviews and are currently ON OFFER at $55.99 with FREE SHIPPING.
***Best Car Speakers With Bass***
This more expensive model includes two 3-way, 6X9” speakers. They are carbon injected and built to be larger than others in their class. This in turn means they are capable of creating a louder and more impressive sound that is ideal for entertaining passengers and enjoying music over the sound of open windows on the highway.
They have all the features you’d expect of a high-end product: including soft dome tweeters with dual-level volume adjustment, low impedence, and dedicated high quality crossover components.
Ultimately, it is less about the speakers themselves and more about the exposures. At least one reviewer says that they can be pushed further than the specifications suggest as well.
At $80.95 they’re the priciest speakers we recommend, but the price tag shouldn’t put you off if you’re looking for high quality car speakers with good bass, because that is exactly what you’ll get with JBL’s premium offering.
They average 4.3 stars out of 5 from 675 reviews and come with FREE SHIPPING too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
As with everything, when it comes to buying speakers you do get what you pay for. Pay less, and you should expect to get a less impressive sound quality as a result.
The good news though is that for most people, choosing even very affordable car speakers can make a big difference – as long as you look around and know what you’re doing. If you’re currently making do with the OEM speakers that came with your car, then any one of these purchases will offer a marked difference and cleaner bass.
At $34.99 the BOSS Component Speakers are very hard to beat and are, unsurprisingly, the best-sellers right now. Spend a little more on the Pioneers or Kenwoods though and you’ll have truly incredible sound at a very low price.
If we had to pick just one set however, we’d choose the JBL’s. They are, in our opinion, the best car speakers with bass on the market right now.
Chances are, if you’ve found your way to this post, that you’d already made the decision to upgrade to a set of car speakers with good bass. But since posting this article we’ve received a few queries from our readers asking us what exactly we mean by bass, and how it can influence your listening, and therefore your driving experience.
Well, to start with, you can’t catch it with a rod!
When we speak of bass, in relation to car speakers, we are referring to the sounds that you hear when the lowest notes of a song or a beat are played. Its the lowest note of the musical range. Think of the late Michael Clarke Duncan singing your favorite song, or anything by Barry White.
So why is this such a big issue? Well, to many people it’s not. But to quite a few it’s a big deal because with bass comes vibration, and if vibration is not kept under control then sound quality can be seriously compromised.
If you spend a lot of time on the road and enjoy your music then it’s likely that you won’t want to sacrifice the audio experience to save a few dollars on sub-standard speakers.
Check out this amazing clip from the Verge which explains why our brains love music with bass so much:
Over a lifetime you’ll be a better person if you spend your days listening to the music that makes you happiest, without the interruption of muffling or vibration.
What you want (what we all want) is a crisp, clear delivery with not a single imperfection to interfere with the low notes that often define a tune. They can be the hallmark of a song, and, as with many drivers, if you drive for long periods at a time, you probably look forward to those notes miles in advance.
So what do you need to look for? The best car speakers for bass and sound quality are invariably priced accordingly. They’ll have a wide frequency, good impedance, durable core features, and more likely than not soft-domed tweeters. As you will have seen from our reviews above, in our humble opinion, the car speakers with the best bass are the JBL’s, which tick all of the boxes.
We’ve set out a full buying guide further down this review to help you, but here’s a link to a useful article from Crutchfield to help you improve the audio in your car.
In short, the best way to improve the sound quality of your car’s audio setup is to buy the best car speakers with bass that you can afford. And, as you will have seen from our reviews above, a decent set of car speakers with good bass shouldn’t cost you the earth.
Buying the best speakers in your price range will be sufficient for 99% of drivers. However, for the die-hards who want to experience the ultimate boom, or every crisp note of every instrument, a simple upgrade might not be enough.
In those circumstances it would be a good idea to add a subwoofer to enjoy the deepest notes without any distortion.
We won’t go into too much detail here about subwoofers (you can read our full guide on them here) but the main reason that adding one will improve the audio experience is that car speakers, given the nature of their intended location, are limited in size. That means that even the best in class aren’t large enough to produce optimum bass, and even if they were the amplifiers typically found in a car sound system aren’t powerful enough to drive them.
So, for the 1%, adding a subwoofer is the answer. As this review focuses on the best car speakers for bass without a subwoofer you should take a look at our separate review here to get the best boom for your buck!
If you are going to add a subwoofer, here’s a handy guide from Instructables on how to get the most out of it.
Here are a few more options to consider before forking out on the best bass car speakers that your budget will allow:
1. Try Checking Your Radio’s Control Panel
It sounds obvious, but quite often the sound quality of your car’s bass system may have been temporarily altered by changes to the settings. Check to see if the the treble (the tones at the higher end of the musical range) haven’t been cranked up too high. If they have this will distort things, so experiment with reducing them until things are back to normal. Likewise if the bass settings have been brought back toward the middle range, lowering them back to where they should be will help a lot.
2. Check That The Existing Speakers Are Securely Installed
Again it sounds obvious, but if there is a lose component, or if the point where the speakers are attached is not secured correctly, the level of vibration and therefore distortion will increase considerably. If you find a lose part, secure it before re-testing your audio system for clarity.
3. Check For Damage
Often the source of poor sound quality can be as simple as a little bit of damage the speaker. In many cases this will be a small tear to the fabric of soft-domed tweeters found on all good car speakers with bass. Once repaired or replaced the sound quality should come back.
4. Check Speaker Size And Adjust The Fade
This one’s not so obvious. Fade refers to the gradual increase or decrease in the level of an audio signal. Some car stereo systems come with the option of adjusting the output of individual speakers. It’s often the case that the speakers in the rear of a car will be a bit bigger than those in the front. If that is the case then try adjusting the fade so that the bigger speakers deal with a bigger signal. There is a good chance that the crispness of your audio will improve as a result.

We’ve also been asked how we came to choose the seven best car speakers with bass referred to above over the many hundreds that are available on the market, which are also seemingly excellent if the manufacturers blurb is to be believed.
Compiling a list of the top products is never easy, so to start with we discount anything that averages less than 4 stars out of 5 on review. We’ll then usually discount any product that’s received less than 50 independent reviews. In some cases, where a product is new and the feedback is off the chart (as was the case with the Kenwoods) we’ll include them because it’s clear that they are going to be best-sellers in time.
Then we drill down into the specifications, key features, limitations, price, popularity and performance.
You have to take the odd negative comment with a pinch of salt, but when a complaint becomes a regular theme, or when a limitation hinders performance, we black-list that product and move onto the next.
After filtering hundreds of products using this method we had around 70 candidates. 70 hopefuls of being crowned the best car speakers with bass. Of those we picked the top 10% having regard primarily to price, popularity and performance.
From our research we are of view that:
- The car speakers with the best bass are the JBLs;
- They’re also the best 6.5 speakers for bass;
- Those providing the best value for money are the BOSS CH6Ks;
- They’re also the best car door speakers with good bass; and
- The best 4 inch car speakers with good bass are made by Pioneer;
You simply cannot beat independent, honest feedback. We therefore monitor user feedback regularly to keep this review up-to-date. If the products above start to receive criticism, or if a new product comes along to blow them out of the water you can be sure that we’ll react accordingly to make sure that this list always contains the best car speakers with bass at any given time.
Things to Consider When Choosing The Best Car Speakers With Bass
Car speakers have been bringing the joy of music to drivers since the early 1900’s. Before technology began to advance your typical car boasted just one speaker fixed to the dash. Fast-forward several decades and now we have amplifiers and four or more speakers in every vehicle to provide clean, crisp sound.
And, nowadays, speakers are not just used to listen to music; they serve several other purposes. The most common other uses include using them for Bluetooth, to listen to audio books, and to take calls. The speakers available in the market come in a variety of options, and costs vary according to the functions that they perform.
Here are a few things to consider before you buy:
1. Type of Speakers
There are two main types of speakers available on the market:
- Component Speakers: if you’re a driver looking for the best quality and better audio, you should go for component speakers. With this type of speaker key components such as tweeters and woofers can be moved around (rather than remain in one fixed spot) to provide batter sound wave transfer and therefore better audio. The BOSS speakers reviewed above are a great example of this type of speaker. As we’ve seen they have over 2,000 positive reviews. So it should come as no surprise that many of the car speakers with the best bass are of a component design.
- Full Range Speakers: these are the simplest to install as they come as an all in one system. They are cost effective and a good choice for anyone looking to upgrade the factory speakers that came with their car. As they are less versatile than a component set, the sound quality might not be quite as clear at the extremes as the very best bass car speakers, however there are plenty of good car speakers with bass that come as a full range package.
2. Sound Quality
This one goes without saying. The main purpose of speaker system installation is to produce great sound consistently. In trying to find the best car speakers for bass and sound quality the buyer should have regard to several factors that can influence performance, including frequency and sensitivity.
The systems with wider range are obviously better. The frequency of market grade speakers ranges from 10 to 20,000 Hertz. It follows that the wider the frequency range of your speakers, the greater range of sound they are able to provide. You don’t however need to have these extremities to enjoy great audio. In fact it’s unlikely that the average human ear could pick up sound at the highest frequencies, but if you’re a music nut you’ll want the widest range that you can get your hands on.
Try this bass test to see how low you can go:
With regard to sensitivity, it does not directly affect the sound but it controls the amount of sound speakers generate through the supply of power. If you have a low powered car bass system then you’d be well advised to get high sensitivity speakers. Conversely, if you’ve got a high powered system, a lower sensitivity rating will be fine.
3. Build Quality
The materials used to manufacture speaker components can have a big influence on both sound quality and lifespan.
- Tweeters: the best car speakers with bass have tweeters made from delicate materials like silk and polyurethane, which results in a smooth sound, whereas, when harder materials like metal or graphite are used you can end up with “popping” on the higher notes.
- Casing: this is the packaging around the woofer which is included to help protect it from high temperatures and damp. Rubber casing produces the best sound, however those with a foam or fabric casing, although usually cheaper, can do a good job.
- Woofer: ideally your woofer should be made from a lightweight yet firm material for it to deliver good bass so. Polypropylene is widely used as it helps to deliver a nice crisp bass sounds, so choose a woofer made of this material if you have the choice.
4. Additional Features
Below are some additional value-adding features that can be used to improve audio:
- Detachable Tweeters: these give you ultimate flexibility. They can be used in full-range or component systems, and, when they can come with you when you change your car, saving you from buying a new set. Cash-back!
- External Crossovers: many full-range audio systems support external crossovers. They maximize on sound quality by sending separate frequencies to your woofer and your tweeter with the result that neither component attempt to create frequencies that they are incapable of.
- Pivoting Tweeters: if you are dealing with a small car, or a tight space, the ability to pivot your tweeters to send the music your way can be priceless.
As with everything, car speakers with good bass are available across a wide price range.
In this review we’ve tried to focus on a range of speakers that would be both affordable and acceptable to the majority of shoppers.
There are obviously a variety of speakers from simple to high-tech and it follows that there is a corresponding difference in cost. You should do your budgeting first before you go shopping for checking. If you set a clear budget, and stick to it, the process shouldn’t take long.
Hopefully this guide has given you a good idea of what you can expect to get for a reasonable price. If you want a set of good car speakers for bass we’d recommend spending as much as you can afford. That means buying the JBL’s. if you do that you won’t be disappointed.
Keep in mind that a speaker’s durability and potential lifespan will not correlate with a speaker’s sound quality. Likewise, a cheaper model by a lesser known brand may work just as well, if not better than an offering from some of the big boys. We’ve tried to be impartial, and have included speakers from both in this review.
