Leaks in a vehicle’s engine are a fact of life. Age and driving exposes the engine to pressure and heat, which can cause the o-rings, gaskets and other seals to harden or dry up.

Over time, this can cause cracks and holes to develop in the engine, which can lead to oil leaks.

Stop leak additives, like this one, are non-solvent chemical formulas comprised of a mixture of modifiers that cause friction, as well as other refined petroleum ingredients.

They minimize the amount of oil that passes through those worn seals and holes.

Essentially, stop leak additives revive the seals in the engine, allowing them to return to their normal shape, size and flexibility, thereby reducing or preventing oil leaks.

Revive Those Seals!

There are plenty of engine stop leak additives on the market, but unfortunately, many of them aren’t well made.

This means that they either: 1) won’t do anything to the seals to prevent or slow oil leaks; or 2) could do more damage to the seals and the engine, causing an even bigger problem.

Thankfully, they’re not all bad…
